It's Maptacular!
For a while, there was a rudimentary system to connect a picture to a location on Flickr via a system of tags and a link to another website (here's an example). The guy running it got hired by Yahoo! (or Flickr, maybe), the functionality on his website went away, and he proceeded (presumably) to integrate this into Flickr.

It works really really really well. Drag and drop, configurable levels of privacy, everything. The only thing really lacking is good satellite photos. Google Maps has more detailed ones, but it's not to hard to go back and forth. Still, it makes me wish Google had bought Flickr when they had the chance.

PS: Almost forgot to mention that if you _do_ have valid geotagged pictures already, the new tool AUTOMATICALLY IMPORTS THEM when you start it up (it asks you for permission first). That's rad beyond words.

That is pretty neat. It puts me one step closer to getting a Garmin (or some such) and a Flickr account.
